Westworld | Season One

Background: Back in 2016 HBO came out with a show that was so mind bending that it was amazing. I did not know what to expect when I first began watching Westworld. All I knew was that it was based on a movie from 1973. So I did what most people would do and went to Wikipedia and read the synopsis of the movie. Westworld the movie and Westworld the television show had similarities but were very much different. This will be the most challenging review I will do. Westworld has so many twists and turns that it is hard not to spoil anything. I will try my hardest to not spoil anything in this blog. The Plot: There are two different storylines in Westworld. One storyline revolves the business side and the other revolves around the actual Westworld park. The first storyline I mentioned involves a new storyline being written for the park. TV Wrap Up | Part Two

Overview: Watching 11 shows this semester was a bit more challenging than I thought it would be. Trying to fit in a 10-episode season while doing other school work was tough. Finding shows that were both intriguing and entertaining was also difficult to do. The top 5 shows on this list though were some of the best television I have ever watched. Without further ado here are my top 5. 5. Fargo Fargo was one of the most captivating television shows I have watched before. Fargo took a lot of inspiration from the movie that it is named after. Even in production value Fargo took inspiration from the movie Fargo. Fargo had one of the most captivating characters that I think has ever been on television. Lorne Malvo played by Billy Bob Thorton took over the screen whenever he was on screen. Thorton played the psychopathic character so well that you kind of wanted him to be victorious by the end of the season. TV Wrap Up | Part One

Overview: Since we are close to the end of the semester I have decided to do a countdown of my favorite shows of this semester. I have watched some really good shows this semester. Some have stuck with me throughout the semester and I consider those to be the best I have watched. So I have made a list of the 11 shows I have watched and ranked them. For this week I am going to run down my 11-6, and next week will be the top 5 shows I watched. 11. Too Funny to Fail: The Life and Death of The Dana Carvey Show Too Funny to Fail was an enjoyable watch, and as a documentary it was one of the best I have ever watched. Dana Carvey is one of the funniest comedians of the last 30 years and his talent is shown in this documentary. The documentary was about the creation of The Dana Carvey Show. The show was literally too funny to fail. The cast included Carvey, Steve Carell, and Stephen Colbert. The only reason I have placed this last on my list was because it wasn't actually a show. F Is For Family | Season One

Background:  F Is For Family is different than most of your family shows. The show really lets loose in what it can get away with as a cartoon. It gets as explicit as possible for any show out there. F Is For Family is also very relatable and I think that is why this show is so good. The Plot: F Is For Family takes place in the mid-1970s, and shows the prototypical family of the time. The revo lves around the Murphy family. They are a middle class family that has the problems of every family. It focuses on many of the problems facing a family in the 1970s. The Characters: The patriarch of the family is Frank Murphy. Frank is a hot tempered man who hates his life. He is profane and never knows when to shut his mouth. Frank is a manager at the local airport, and he is trying to avoid a strike by the workers there. Sue is Frank's wife and is the stay at home mom for the family. She is prone to being as profane as Frank, but she is able to keep calm in most situations. K...

Background: What happens when you combine the JFK assassination and Time Travel? 11.22.63 is what you get, and it is a damn good show. I was blown away 11.22.63. The show is about as well produced as any show out there. The characters are spot on, the cinematography is beautiful, and the plot is intriguing. The plot: 11.22.63 is about a man named Jake Epping (James Franco) who is asked to go through a time portal to prevent the JFK assassination. The man who tasks him with it believes that if the assassination is prevented then the future would be different for the better. Jake isn't so convinced but time travels anyway. Jake arrives in the past three years before the assassination takes place, and has to be convinced that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone with the plot. BoJack Horseman | Season One

BoJack Horseman is one of the more unique shows I have watched. As an adult cartoon it is already different than most shows, but the concept is very unique. BoJack Horseman is set in a reality where both animals and humans co-exist in life. They have social relationships and intimate relationships, and it is weird to watch these interactions. The character development and characteristics are so well done in this show that you don't seem them as animals and humans, you just see them as characters.  The plot of the first season revolves around our main character BoJack Horseman. He is former TV star from the 1990s who has not acclimated to life after his acting career ended. When we first meet BoJack he is in the middle of working on his memoir. He is having trouble writing it, so his agent/ex-girlfriend Princess Carolyn urges him to get a ghost writer. This is when he meets Diane Nguyen. Future Man

I started the television Future Man a couple weeks ago. After watching the first episode I was not really impressed with it, and thought it was juvenile. I was going to review BoJack Horseman for this week's review, but then I finished watching Future Man. After watching the rest of the season I realized the brilliance of the show. The show is a homage to 80's sci-fi. The show consists of a lot of Terminator and Back to the Future references. A lot of the references really hit perfectly for the show, and a lot of what it accomplishes is because of this.  Josh Futturman is a loser janitor and spends most of his time playing the video game Biotic Wars. After Josh beats the game the main characters of the game Tiger and Wolf enter his room. They are from the future and our asking for his help in fixing the apocalyptic future. Tiger and Wolf are ruthless human beings, and in their future it is either kill or be killed. They see Josh as the chosen one since he beat the video ...
